Due to a complete lack of anything close to a life, I've written one extremely long profile, hope someone enjoys it.
My name is Kendra, and I like to think that I'm a nice person. Albeit I'm not perfect, I have my moments of ignorance and stupidity, which I'm sure are much more common than the times I show some intelligence. My dream for a short while was to become a pilot in the military, but due to my vision, and the fact that LASIK means disqualification, than I'm unfortunately grounded for the long haul. Anyway, don't be afraid to contact me on AIM/MSN/or Yahoo. But you have to ask for them.
My Views On:
My Life: This isn't going to be about me complaining about my 'messed up life,' because I don't have one. I believe that if I imagine anything happening, it won't happen, and this has been true all through my life.
Religion: Religion doesn't bother me, and I'm not going to insult it. Religion has it's pros and cons. Without religion, there would surely be a lot more murders and whatnot going on, because the fear of punishment in the afterlife does stop quite a lot of people, so at least it helps with that. The only times I have problems with religion, is when people make decisions based on it, or use religion as an excuse. Fanatics are a bit annoying, but that's a given. For my religion though, I do believe there is a God, and I pray to it. If I had gotten a bat mitzvah, I'd have been a Jew. I also believe in the dream theory and reincarnation, many don't though. Deism is also an interesting religion theory, and there's plenty of other interesting ones that I think could be possible.
Sex: I am a tad old-fashioned. I believe in sex after marriage, or maybe sex in a long-term relationship, maybe. Call me a prude or a goody-goody if you'd like, but it's not going to change anything. I've never once committed one sexual or even intimate act, ever. Which renders me immaculate, in the physical sense at least. I don't have much respect for those who are horribly promiscuous, but they can do whatever they want to. I just hate how sex has become an obsession in this country, and people with morals have become as rare as the Ebola virus in America. It is almost depressing how our country has changed in the past century.
Drugs And Alcohol: I'm really not a fan of either. Drinking once in a while isn't a bad thing, but I can't really drink...because I'm the only girl I know who has gotten drunk off of a wine-cooler. My tolerance is nonexistent. I don't care for people who just get drunk constantly. If someone has to have the aid of alcohol to be fun or enjoy themselves, then I don't need them. A person worth knowing, is worth knowing while sober. As for drugs, I'm just not up for addictions, and not being able to control my own body or actions, so I prefer not to try any of them. I don't approve of them, but some of my friends do drugs, and it's their choice to make, not mine.
Marriage: Marriage IS about love, at least I believe it should be. Unless you're in Japan, but here I believe gay marriages should be legal if a homosexual couple wants to get married. I do plan to be married one day, and I loathe the idea of divorce. Only my best friend and I have parents who haven't divorced, and I just think it's a horrible thing, especially when there's children envolved. If only people would work more at their marriages and not fly off to divorce court after the first conflict.
Relationships: Relationships are something I think people abuse now. There's so many 'relationships' that last a week...which is rather pathetic. I, myself, have had a couple of brief relationships, and this makes me a bit of a hypocrite. But don't get me wrong, I am picky...I'm not going to waste my time with someone that I know will just rid of me once he or she has had their fun, or just isn't someone I click with. I need a man who keeps me on my toes, either with intellectual challenges or just making me laugh a lot.
Immigration: I recently read an article someone wrote about an overpopulation of Asian immigrants in New Zealand, and it thoroughly pissed me off. I was asked if I was okay with people moving into the US, and I glanced at the tally-chart to see that most people voted for 'yes, I have a problem with it." People like this anger me. I bet the Indians had a problem with us moving in on their land and forcing them into reservations, huh? I think that all land, is there for those who want it, it isn't officially owned by one race or another.
Immigration Part II: I have stated above that I like the idea of immigration. What I am about to say will paint me as hypocritical, which is fine by me. I know I'm not flawless. It annoys me, when immigrants expect the country they've gone into, to conform to fit their needs. I get incredibly annoyed when someone comes up to me at work and asks me to find someone who speaks their language for them. If you're coming into a foreign country, you'd better learn their national language! That's like going to Germany and expecting to only speak English. It's rude, disrespectful, and pompous. If I was going to Japan, I'd be damned sure to learn the language. It's just common courtesy.
Being True To Yourself: I have extremely high respect for people who can be themselves, and do whatever they like to, because that's who they are. So even if you are cruel and mean, but brutally honest and opinionated, I probably have a lot of respect for you.
Grammar: To the people who would type something such as: "Hi wut iz ^?! i am $o $m@rt!!" I will most-likely not talk to you, unless you're just mocking others who use that kind of spelling, or if you're just having some fun in 1337-speak. It's not because I'm mean, it's because I'm just a grammar-freak most of the time, and talking to someone who types like a first grader, well it's rather annoying. Learn how to spell, will you?
Font-Faces And Lingo: This is a bad habit that refuses to die. I use font-faces, and 'lol' a lot. Many find it annoying, but I don't at all. Font-faces just make me feel like I'm talking to an actual person, because they're showing me what they're feeling and such, it also makes it much easier to not misinterpret what people say ... If my use of font-faces bothers you, you just have to tell me and I'll stop.
Politics and Anarchy: This is such a dirty subject. I really dislike politics, all it's about is who can lie the best, but I still find it to be a somewhat interesting subject. As for my political views, I'm a democrat, but I have also liked a few republican presidents. As for anarchy, it is a silly idea to begin with. Sure, I may very much dislike our government, but the idea of not having it at all frightens me. Let's face it, people are generally too stupid to be able to govern themselves, and I really don't like the idea of a country being thrown into complete and utter chaos. Angsty-teenage-anarchists typically bother me as well, but really only the ones who go into a Hot Topic, buy their anarchy gear, and then pay government taxes on them. Haha, hypocrites. Anarchy is just a joke.
