About Me

I'm a military brat so I'm pretty adaptable and fun to play in cardboard boxes with:)I'm always moving. When I'm not, I'm figuring out a way to get there. Nothing has changed. I probably hold the record for peeing in more public places than anyone I know. I've lived in a coach bus and a van overseas on the road for years at a time and I LIKED IT! I've squatted in london and liked that too. Soundsystem saturdays, every saturday. I've been woken up in the morning by a British bobby in the park before. dammmn! I guess I could easily end up sleeping under an underpass one day if I'm not careful...yeah the next Boxcar Bertha trying to play a broken mandolin or something, rambling on about H-town Jungle parties in the mid-90s or the Sofa party I threw at Bristle's rekkid shop. Houston rocked back then, breakbeat city. respect to the Purrin Lion crew. Love you guys still. anyway I could be a bush woman just as easily I guess, tracking down waterholes and beating off stray dogs with sticks, but I like wearing shoes and using gadgets too much. I do feel like I'm always in transit, but Houston seems like home the most. I like to say "you never never know, if you never never go." I've seen alot of crazy things travelling with Spiral Tribe and BeDlam (UK soundsystems) around the US and abroad. Dj'ed some surreal places overseas, like at Yendumu Aboriginal community with +300 kids on rollerskates, breakdancing with strobes flashing to some of my old-skool jungle. There was the Sub-Commandante at Alieu the guerilla compound in East TImor who jumped on the mic during my drum-n-bass set. There was 10,000 Timorese people at this one outdoor venue, the kids were freaking out over the turntables and vinyl(they had never seen them before only radios) Oh yeah, I got to open for Aphrodite in Canberra, Australia, in '99, yes I heard the 1000 wing-ed cherubs parting the clouds in golden unison.cmon he was one of my favorite producers in the early 90's...noone could touch his programming...except T-power. What else...I've been involved in protests here in Houston, London, and Australia because if you don't struggle to change, you definitely can't complain. RTS rules, talk about organized. plus I love speakers and everyone knows you can't have a revolution with the music turned down. No you won't find me ranting over coffee at Starbucks(I will never buy from them anyway-if you knew how they took land from growers you wouldn't either). I'm all for independent living in every way...I spend my time trying to minimize controls in my life. sorta punk but kinda isolating. Depends where I'm at and whose around. But I believe in personal responsibility...I got problems with lazy people within institutions of power that don't try and make life better for everyone. I had the most fun when I was chasing kids around in a crazy goat woman costume in East Timor (meeahhh!) We were making a kid's TV show that made fun of the UN and its impractical non-solutions to real problems. We made a some kind of mark there...BibiBulak (Crazy Goat) is run by the Timorese who make radio dramas and PSAs... Bibi lives on. Too bad Indonesian security became such a big issue for foreigners, especially women, and I had to get the f*%@ outta there. But now I'm lucky to be back in Houston after 5 years abroad, the people I know here make it worth it. I'm trying to find my place still. That's where all the funs at. So while I'm "waiting for Godot", I like kickin it on the curb drinking Olde english sometimes. Give me more x-factors in life...warehouse parties, beach festivals, live shows, after parties, strange plays, traveling...bizarro people or things. Give me something to think about, tell me a story, make me laugh. I like forgetting what time it is, unless I'm late to a party of course. I do hate watches tho. I wish I lived somewhere where we told time by how long it took to smoke a cigarette or how long it takes to for the leaves to turn brown. I resent the church for instilling delineated time into the world, for this I will never join. Everyone needs to be chased by the cops at some point in their life. And oh yeah I like to get outside my box every once in a while when life seems hard or just when I wanna push something, cos like Aesop Rock says "everyone's gotta push somethin'."
