Born in the mid 80's, Derek Potter Jr. was totally surrounded by GOD, music, rhythm, the growth of Hip-Hop. At the age of 5, his older cousin sat him down and demanded that he learned how to play the drums. He soon became one of the youngest drummers at his Uncle's Church in Jackson, MI. Derek then fell in love with the drum of a beat, with big dreams of becoming some type of star in the future.Derek went on to graduate from high school as one of the best point guards to ever come out of Jackson High School. He help lead the vikings to a Class A (the best!) Regional District Championship title in 2003, 1 game shy from doing it big at the Breslin Center.After collabing with another Jackson High School point guard legend James Bradley on a mixtape with other upcoming artists around the way, Derek knew he had a place in Hip-Hop. After spitting his ill 16 bar verse, he received great feedback about his prescence on the mic. From that day on Derek began to grow and grind in the music understanding his voice becoming one with his delivery, and cementing his place in hip hop.He brings a soulful, all-around, witty, passionate personality when he spits. He goes by many names YOUNG POTTA, or YP for short, Young presidental, Fly Y Marty Mc'Fly (futuristic flow) The legendary 1, & many more. He's part of the S.U movement T.O. the the Mafia that is exploding here in the midwest region. With no hatred, envy, or jealousy towards anyone else who's doing the same thing, he plans on putting Jackson on the map and has no signs of letting up or giving in.
