Mos Opus

Carrying the Torch for Music that Burns Brighter.

About Me

Mos Opus is a five piece band located in the New England area which plays a very eclectic style of music. The styles of music include but are not limited to Rock, Funk, Reggae, and Electronic. In 2001 after the members of the band graduated high school, they began practicing in a basement in Cheshire, CT. Soon after, realizing their potential, they rented a band room in Meriden, CT from a crack head named John Scags. There they met a crazy group of low-lifes ranging from a man who slept in a van to a half-primate/half-Australian named Brother Bob. Despite the unerving conditions, Mos Opus continued to practice there for over a year. With enough material to record an album, they made their way to Terminal Sound Studios in the heart of Waterbury - the Annaconda Brass Factory on the dreaded Freight Street. When recording was finished, Mos Opus decided that a hiatus must be taken and they departed after their CD Release Show with The Disco Buscuits. Keyboardist Brian Fox and guitarist Will Earley moved to Hollywood to attend the Musician's Institute. Drummer Justin Howland moved to New York City to attend the Drummer's Collective. Bass Player Mirth continued his schooling at Central Connecticut with a minor in music.A year and a half passed, Mos Opus returned to Connecticut to rebuild the band with their newfound knowledge. It was at this time that long time friend, Nick Hartsell, joined the Opus as lead singer. Currently Mos Opus is writing new material as well as touching up some older material. Mos Opus looks forward to their future releases and touring to grow their fan base. Expect to see Mos Opus in the near future!
