There is no sTaTion 85.0 on the radio. It is sub-FM. UNDERGROUND if you will. Back in the day, we played our first live show at the old Skinny - previously a porno theatre (sticky floors, MENSTRUAL ARTWORK leftover). Back then, TeleVision sTaTion 85 was the scrambled porn channel. It seemed to make sense [let the circle be unbroken].
The music, you could call it scrambled if you wanted. WARNING: Listening to this music may scramble your brain. DUELING FRONTMEN each bring their own aesthetics and ideas, and we go in all directions. So be prepared for a folk love song, socio-political rock, and feel-good reggae pop. We play what we like. WE WON'T BE PIGEON-HOLED. Keep an open mind and an honest heart. If you want some recycled BS sponsored by WalMart, all apologies you wasted your time reading this far.
So sTaTion8T5 has been together since the days of squiggle porn. We've been playing all over the Portland, Maine bar scene. When we started we weren't even allowed to drink at the bars where we played. NOT that it STOPped us [don't tell!]. This IS Rock 'n Roll, after all. You might have heard rock and roll is dead. Hey hey, my my, it's really just buried alive. Let me testify:
sTaTion85 has been STALKED at our jobs
sTaTion85 has inspired middle-aged women to PEEL OFF THEIR BLOUSES AND DANCE with their high school flunky fans
sTaTion85's girlfriends have run away to join the CIRCUS(seriously)
sTaTion85 has fought the bouncer [tried to go matrix on his ass. ouch]
sTaTion85 has been BUSTED and then wrote songs about it
sTaTion85 has played a 4-hour set without all our members
sTaTion85 has NOT been invited to any EMO festivals
sTaTion85 are really a nice bunch of guys and will help wipe up any footprints our fans leave on table or bar-tops.
