About Me

I'm The Littleshovel and I'm originally from Chicago, IL. I started making electronic music over ten years ago when my friend Ben bought a little Yamaha SU-10 sampler in Evanston, IL, and I refused to give it back to him. I had a great teacher, (Garo Tokat), who taught me the value of exercise, discipline, and work ethic in musicmaking. Some musicians are so full of themselves in that they think that everything they make is worthy of an audience. To me, that's some Hollywood bullshit. There's far more bad music in this world that was created out of ego and selfishness than good music that was created with the best artistic intentions. Unfortunately, it seems these days, one almost has to accept the idolization of celebrity as a sort of justification to whore their product, even if their conscience and their soul repudiates such logic. I feel bad for them. In fact, I feel bad for every good person who's gone to Los Angeles to "pursue their dream," and in turn lost their soul in the process.
So, I hope you enjoy something you hear on this site. I hope it speaks to you, because everything you hear was forged with nothing but the reality of the human experience as inspiration. Not fantasy. Not celebrity. Not bullshit. If it takes you to a place that you haven't been before, I'll meet you there. Because, that place is not Los Angeles. And I'll be happy to buy you a beer.
Feel free to say something....
