- Myspace LayoutsA Tribute To River PhoenixRiver was an extremely talented actor and singer/songwriter. he was born on August23, 1970 at exactly 12:03 in the afternoon in Madras, Oregon,he was the first of 5 children. He starred in many films such as, Stand by me, Running on empty, Seven brides for Seven brothers, indiana jones and the last crusade, the thing called love,My Own Private Idaho,Sneaker,and Love You To Death. He was also in a band with his sister Rain called Aleka's Attic. River was an animal rights activist and he was a major part of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and he was a strict vegitarian. River died of a drug overdose on October 30, 1993 outside of the Viper Room (club owned by johnny depp at the time) and he was with his girlfriend Samantha Mathis, his sister Rain, and his brother Joaquin who called 911 right away. later that night River died at exactly 1:58 a.m. River is not "the actor that died of drugs" he is " the most talented, sweet, caring, amazing person" no words can describe how wonderful he was.
