I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

My innate curiosity guides my exuberance for life and learning. I am an avid reader, and will never turn away from a good discussion. I am compelled to express myself creatively, primarily through writing and creating art. A Master Gardener, I view all growing things as a form of art and am particularly enamored with the profusion of colors and textures that abound in nature.
I am a published writer, and a fashion/textile designer by training with a specialty in Japanese Shibori . Although earning a steady paycheck is a necessary function of survival, creative side projects are my greatest source of satisfaction. I am currently writing a cookbook, as well as a curriculum guide on horticulture in the classroom. I love words and never get tired of writing. I recently launched my own business doing the things I love, providing website design and maintenance services to small business owners.
I listen to a lot of music and it is really fun to share my passion for music with my teenage son. I enthusiastically champion his musical aspirations because I believe that my son is an amazing guitarist and songwriter. He appreciates and plays everything from classic rock, Motown and the oldies, to indie rock and more; currently he is focusing on acoustic. Our CD and vinyl collections are vast and we have a lot of fun perusing vintage record shops.
"God gave us music because our hearts don't have vocal chords."

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is creative, entrepreneurial, compassionate, artistic, intelligent, open-minded, witty, inspiring, friendly, articulate, honest, or generous. People who make me think or laugh.

"Lately, I'm wondering if growing older makes all of us who've given our lives to rock, artists and fans alike, go through a strangely healthy kind of death. . . . The healthy death is, for me, the demise of the assumptions I've nurtured so fiercely for so long: that rock-and-roll would always make me feel strong and vital and sure. I still say proudly that my life was saved by rock-and-roll. But now I'm almost ready to stop being saved, and instead to confront the awkwardness of getting older as a person who was never supposed to, to give up on cool and anti-cool both and to just try to listen to the moment I'm stuck in, painfully unresolved and possibly magical as it is."
