About Me

okay...i've got a bunch of london pics in my pics section, but here are a few with short commentary. it's about friggin time i got these up.
..
above is a rare view of buckingham palace. it's surrounded by parks (also a rarity in crowded london) and there is a large pond in st. regent's park with a bridge crossing it. i was a little taken aback when i turned around and saw this inspiring scene.
..
there really are ravens at the tower of london. they're big and aggressive. this one kept hopping towards me - i think it was the red hair. i named him phil.
..
everywhere you want to go and everything you want to see you are charged for it. in st. paul's cathedral they said "no pictures". kiss my butt - i just paid to get in here so i turned off the flash. i think they meant it though. there are lots of people buried in the cathedral - the last of which was laurence olivier. i was sitting in the "artist's corner" burial area with the camera on my knee and STILL couldn't get a non-blurry pic, like they really didn't want me taking a photo. it was kind of creepy...
..
there are no SUVs or trucks in london. there are a plethora of 'smart' cars. these tiny, efficient vehicles that look like matchbox cars. they're totally scaled for my size!!
..
i saw a bunch of shows. the above is a pic of an actor from love's labour's lost at the globe. he was beautiful, so i waited at the stage door and complimented the actors on their performance (they can put many Americans to shame). they were intrigued by my accent (totally felt like a celeb) and this guy and i hung out. oh yeah...
..
*sigh* patrick stewart in macbeth. he really is a god. even if you don't understand a lick of shakespeare, you would understand every foot that fell from his lips. he's that good...
as i said earlier, there's a lot more pictures - many of which i haven't uploaded yet. i saw so much and walked so far - it was amazing. but i wouldn't want to live there. it was more crowded than new york. and, while i was prepared for the rain, it really sucked how gray and dismal and rainy it was every day. there were two bright and sunny days. though the rain did wonders for my hair.
