His combination of music education at Carnegie-Mellon University, Parsons Jazz, and the New York City streets has molded glen into an original, energetic soul who has toured the world spreading his message.."Music is my passion, I love it!!! I do it because I love it....." From the early 90's to present, I have performed with hundreds of artists and many unique, original bands. I wish I could remember them all. but time has taken its toll. Early on, studied and performed with Arnie Laurence, Eric Kloss, and Vic Juris. Had original projects with such artists as David Poe, Carlos St. Bean, Frank Decarlo, and had my own quintet with great artists such as Atsundo Aikowa, Andrew Hall, Todd Horton, and John Margolies.In the early 90's, A whole new network of musicians came into my life soon after, and this was the makings of Marmalade. Countless shows and more fun than I could ever remember. In the mid-90's, I then teamed up with Mike Henney, also know as Shindigg in a funk and soul orchestra called D'tripp. I spent the better part of the decade with them, performing in Europe, Scandanavia, and at home. After years of exploring different ideas and sounds, living collabaration as well as isolation, a new sound arose. That was Mango Park. The first record was more of an acoustic project combining latin with jazz with a modern edge. Nelson Diaz and Steve Hammer contributed all there time and sensitivity to this project. My partner and lead vocalist, Dierdre Henderson (Dee Dee) sang our first single together, "Never Say", and that was the beginning for us. Our second record, "An Other World", really expressed the meaning of having that one special place, your own Mango Park. I spent over a year in the studio and loved evry minute. Dee Dee brought the songs to life with her ideas, lyrics and amazing vocals. No matter what happens in my life, adversity or praise, my greatest creation, Ian, my son, lives and breaths success and a joy I could only explain in the music I create. Now my life is bigger than just "me", and it has become vital and precious. Into 2000, after years of blood and sweat in the restaurant/bar business, Pianos openned, a music venue, bar/restaurant in the lower east side, NYC. This partnership was a dream of mine that came to life 4 years ago, not just to have a venue to perform, but a chance to support and sustain the live music scene here in NYC. My most recent music project is with a great songwriter named Mikel Paris. His guitar-drumming seems to blow people away every where we perform. His new record, Flow, has just been released. I recorded and produced some of the tracks in my studio, 13th St. Studios, as well as played all horns, ans some percussion, and keys. I also perform every friday nite at The Cupping Room with James Katz, another great artist, who I have been playing with for 15 years. APB is a joint effort between myself and Amy Paul, a very talented singer and writer. I wrote and arranged just about all the music on this record.
