Namibian Music that doesn't suck (i.e. The Dogg, Gazza, Snazzy, Gal Level, Sonny Boy and other miscellaneous Kwaito and Kizomba artists), South African music, which generally sucks slightly less than Namibian music, Brenda Fasse, Malaika, the "Tani-whalla" guys, and other Kwaito and Kwasa Kwasa artists. As for American music I'm outdated but I like Hip Hop, Soul, Country, Rock, Chick Rock, Musicals, and Classical.
Braveheart, Happy Gilmore, The Princess Bride, Ever After (totally embarrasing!), The Emperor's New Grove, Love Actually, When Harry Met Sally, Amelie, Monsoon Wedding, Roman Holiday, Napoleon Dynamite, Newsies, Garden State, etc.
"Cuando Sues Mia" - Oh HELL YEAH! It's on in Phoenix too! For those that speak Spanish or just love to watch non-sense, Azteca TV every afternoon from 4-5.
Guns, Germs, and Steel - Jared Diamond, Ishmael (and sequels)- Daniel Quinn, The Poisonwood Bible - Barbara Kingslover (I lived in Africa, I love it!), and Anna Karenina - Tolstoy are really my current favorites. Oh, and of course Harry Potter (you love it, you know you do!)
