With two exceptions of co-writes with producers Guy Sigsworth (Britney, Seal, Madonna, Bjork) and Roger Greenwalt (No Doubt, Ben Kweller),
Dez writes all of her lyrics and melodies. She simply writes and sings about life experiences.
Her combination of vocal range and evocative, original chord progressions serve to magically capture an audience.
Growing up surrounded by music, she was of course influenced by her grandfather, a professional jazz guitarist. A student of classical violin and ballet since childhood and always eager to expand her horizons, she quickly developed a passionate curiosity in the electronic music that was developing rapidly and caught some of her attention as well during her teenage years.
The press has quoted her stage presence as resembling that of a "smoky New York barroom-Queen", "a princess from a fairytale ", "a beautiful woman with substance ", "a sensual voice" , and "a Manga-like-creature"(Japanese Cartoon Character)
