About Me

Rockin' the guitar in Phoenix, AZ! We don't play out. Most people can't handle us, so this is the place to hear our stuff. You wouldn't want to be any closer. Trust me.So, I uploaded a new craziness called "24hr Bullshit." This song is made up of many old songs/riffs that I have been playing since I was young and cool. I added some clips from my favorite comedy movie. I am dedicating this to old friends, some still around, some not, and some that like to pop back up just to make me feel old and strange. :) And Edwin, I hope you like this one.......Last night I was playing through a song I have been working on playfully titled MILF. I was screwing around with my wah pedal trying to get a feel for what kind of music would be going through a mans head while having dirty thoughts about a respectable woman. :) I struggled with this song a bit, it really wants to go beyond my medocre knowledge of music theory. I was left mainly with just my gut instinct to guide me and translate what I had in my mind into something that didn't sound like total crap. The problem is that when I rehearse a solo part too much it tends to lose it's magic, the emotional vibe deminishes. Some guys can sound polished on thier first take but I must not have that comination of skill and talent. So the early take I recorded for this simple peice is not going be be very polished, but it will contain the grind and feel of an improvised part. Really, its just me screwing around with my wah pedal at two in the morning and having fun while the record button was still on. The timing is not perfect and the phrasing is wierd and it seems to wander a little bit. Just as ones mind might wander while thinking about things that they shouldn't. :) Actually, I am sick of guitarists (or any musician for that matter) who are obsessed with timing and contrived music theory do's and don'ts. Nobody needs a history lesson here, but the roots of Rock N' Roll are deeply imbedded in the musical genius of ordinary fellow's who played with their peckers more than they ever played with a metronome. This music has more to do with the instinctual rhythms of back seat copulation on saturday night at the drive in than anything else. Real rock N' roll takes you back to that place every time you hear it. Back to where the passion fuels everything and you can't find all of you clothes when it is over. Some players shred away for hours like perfectly timed type writers searching for for that groove, but it's always that one perfectly placed note that says everything that needs to be said. That is what I am searching for. That is my excellent adventure, to find that one perfectly placed note upon which will rest the basis of future society... :)

Band Members: James and Dave (http://www.myspace.com/welv240sx) We have been Jamming together since junior high! Much of the rhythm guitar sections on "Back to 1985" were played by Dave, and the song is based on riffs written by Dave. "MILF" and "Recitify this" written and played by James with Dave's constructive criticism. :) We are currently working on a new collaboration when time, work and creativity permits! Check out Dave's "Soul fragments" and "Riffs" on his myspace.

Sounds Like: Crap, I know. I recorded this stuff with my POD XT and my computer using a program called Riffworks. Good news is, I am getting much better at using this sofware and my next song should have much better sound quality. 8^) Crank it up and give it a listen anyway!
