I was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic on June 17-18 1928. It took 20 hours and 40 minutes. May20-21 1932..I was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic; 14 hrs 56 min it was also the 5th anniversary of Lindberg's Atlantic flight. Awarded National Geographic Society's gold medal from President Herbert Hoover. Congress awared me the Distinuished Flying Cross.
