BiographyTeorock’s masterfully blends his powerful vocals with intricate guitar playing to create a beautiful sound. He incorporates his R&B background with folk rock to create a sound that is undeniable. One fan even said, “He could read me the phone book, and I would still be impressed.” Some of his influences are Ben Harper, Mason Jennings, Martin Sexton, and many more. Teorock was born in Brooklyn New York. At a young age he was fascinated by music and he listened to all genres of music. He began playing any instrument he could get his hands on, anything from drums to the piano and even the trumpet. When he was 10 years old he began a rap group called Twoquan Dope, where he and his brother Emcee made their musical debut. After a few years he and his brother discovered their talent was actually in singing. They then formed the group Your Favorite Flavor, aka Y2F. They incorporated three additional singers, Myman-Myself (Greg Gardner), Reid (Adam Reid), and Agony (Andrew Kelly). The group sang soulful R&B and was compared to groups like Boyz II Men, Jodeci, The Temptations, and Shai. The group performed at various venues, and got great reviews from the local music and public communities. However, soon after Teorock graduated from high school the group broke up and the members dispersed, one went as far as Seattle to pursue a new path. About a year later Teorock met a young man by the name of G-Nice (Gerard Swarthout), who was an avid guitar player. Instantly the two became friends and musical partners. Teorock found his calling with the alternative/folk/rock band called Spyrock. The band has been seen all over the world including places like Thailand, Hong Kong, and Sweden. They spent a lot of time in the Hudson Valley working out new songs and themes, with their faithful fans in New Paltz. Their most popular song is 'I Deserve to Know' written by G-Nice (Gerard Swarthout) and Teorock. After meeting and working with G-Nice, Teorock became fascinated by the guitar and with the help of G- Nice he taught himself how to play. Teorock has recently begun a new solo project with a new sound that is all his own. He has been busy recording new songs such as “After the Storm”, “Family”, and “Calm My Heart”. He has learned some new guitar styles from friends and from listening to other types of music, which inspire him to create freely. Teorock has been recording at Young Love Recording Studio with Gary Levitt who has helped him solidify many of his creative songs.
