A band that came from nowhere destined to end up in the same place!
Mamma Kin came together in the form we see it today in 2001 through countless shows and improvisation on all fronts. Sharing a nihilistic view on almost anything except rock n roll and being completely disappointed by the state of underground music in their hometown of Athens, Gr, the bands members moved on to form the band just because they wanted to make music that they could listen to.
Influenced by different kind of rock like Grunge, Punk, Stoner and 70s Hard Rock the band started writing songs that captured all those elements but still had something of its own. Nothing was brought in, everything came out the natural way: jamming.
Shows throughout the years included small clubs like An Club, The Rodeo, After Dark, Underworld etc., larger venues like Gagarin, open benefit festivals at campuses and even acoustic or semi-acoustic gigs.
Perhaps in its most creative time Mamma Kin is still going strong as concert bookings are more frequent than ever.
