OFF THE CROSS (WORKING ON NEW MUSIC!)

About Me

With music and a style that can best be described as Heavy, Brutal and ORIGINAL, OFF THE CROSS is a band that continues to evolve and to move their music into the future. From our humble beginnings in 1992, we decided, early on, that we would much rather write and perform original music rather than try and learn covers. Between 1992 and 1998, and numerous drummer changes, we would play all the major clubs and perform with such bands as Untaymed, Exodus, Manhole, Uncle Slam, Machine Head and Spineshank. Then, for various reasons, in 1998 We would go our seperate ways and OFF THE CROSS would be on hold for over 8 years! In late 2005, Guitarist/Vocalist Rick Larson and Bassist Andy Valdes would make contact with one another and would reform OFF THE CROSS with Guitarist David Ratliff and a couple of different drummers including a past drummer Byron Jackson. Not content with playing old material, Rick Larson continued to write and add new songs to our set and we would recently play with such bands as Dragonlord (feat. Eric Peterson of Testament) and Skinlab!2009...More Evolution! Deciding to take a break from live gigs and concentrate on new material, Guitarist David Ratliff would inform us that he is exiting OFF THE CROSS to concentrate on his own project and we would place Drummer Byron Jackson on hold for the time being! This opens up a whole new world of a streamlined version of OFF THE CROSS with Rick Larson concentrating on all the guitar parts and vocals and Andy Valdes concentrating on the drums and bass with the hope of bringing Byron Jackson back into the fold once we are ready to start playing live gigs again!!
