Atlanta have not in the least bit surprised
many of its inhabitants who are lured by Atlanta's
sound. With such a broad range impact nationally and
internationally, all eyes are on the dirty south. Those eyes are about to be fixated on the newest addition to the southern roster: 6thDay.
These young brothers are making
moves in the hip-hop game by signing with Bonecrusher's, Vainglorious
Entertainment.
While most up and coming artists are propelled to awareness by signing to
a major label, this duo spent seasons making a name battling local hopefuls in high school and on the streets and spitting on underground mixtapes...they knew in order to get their "stage credibility" they had to get their "street credibility".
The Decaturville bred rappers, met while both
attending South West Dekalb High School. They used to battle frequently and were called upon to compete at times, but never against one another....they didn't even know one another. They were however familiar with each other's "battling successes". One day it was mentioned that the two should "join-up" and rhyme together....they have been inseparable ever since.
The huge diversity of difference in their unparalleled lifestyles, proves
that opposite attracts.
Mr.Heard comes from a two-parent home entitling him to the blessings and trappings of a normal upbringing. He had "all the spoils and lavishings" a young man could desire from name brand tennis shoes, electronics, clothes, and females. It was your normal everyday routine for him: BOTH his mother and father working, meals at the dinner table, lunch money in your pocket for school and church on Sunday mornings.
While his "brother in arms" comes from a broken home,a broken family, and sometimes a broken spirit, forcing him to seek refuge on Atlanta's most notorious street corners. There were no mother AND father in THIS house. The only meals Paul Bussell saw at the dinner table.....was at somebody else' table. Lunch money in his pocket meant stretching that dollar he was given on Monday the 15th to that Monday on the 23rd.The church he went to on Sunday mornings was called, "The Streets" because on the streets of College Park is where he would learn "survival techniques" to ensure his family stayed alive. It's where he learned to be both parents at the same time. It's where he learned how to put meals on the dinner table for his family. It's where he learned how to put lunch money in his pocket and his sister's pocket and his mother's pocket.
As their friendship progressed, Mr.Heard was not immune
to the problematic situations faced by his partner. "I ended up having him come live with me and he started to live the street life," states his
partner in rhyme Paul Bussell. "Music was the blessing we used to get us right then and it is the blessing we use to get us right now.
We are fortunate to have met Bonecrusher and Aneesah because they have shown us and taught us that we can channel and focus this blessing into the streets of the hip-hop community and the streets of hip hop radio........not just the streets of College Park.........and on the 6th Day we partied!!!Jim Jones-We Fly High
