My San Francisco Giants, video games, bowling, pinball, the Giants, listening to 60's rock and pop, watching Letterman and ESPN, the Giants, eating unhealthy foods, gritting through another uneven season of SNL ... have I mentioned I like baseball?
A beautiful, intelligent woman with a great sense of humor that will sweep me off my feet and knock my socks off. And believe me, my socks are in definite need of knocking!
That or Robin Meade. Seriously, she's one reason I stay up so late!
I like virtually any rock and pop from the 1960's... British invasion, garage bands, psychedelic... the 70's ain't too bad, either. Except disco. And even though I never listened to it initially as a kid, I'm slowly starting to appreciate (or re-appreciate, I should say) 80's music. Mostly because it's now considered oldies to today's generation. Hear that? It's another gray hair popping out of my head!
As for favorite artists, it's not surprising that the Beatles are my favorite group. I would have to say that the Monkees and the Who are second and third, respectively. I guess my love for vintage rock began when I was searching for Beatles music on the radio, which forty years on still isn't hard to do. I wasn't quite digging the classic rock stations, but oldies reeled me in. Besides, it's fun to listen to all the original songs that today's top hits mercilessly sample from.
I also have a decent amount of humor based CDs in my collection. Monty Python, Bill Cosby, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and the best Beatles parody group bar none, The Rutles.
I don't watch movies. I've never seen Star Wars. I've never seen The Godfather. I've never seen Jurassic Park, Titanic, any of the James Bond or LOTR movies, nor do I care to. Hell, it might be easier to list the movies that I *have* seen... but I won't.
There are four shows that I never miss...
=O= Letterman. He may not put on Rice Krispies suits or throw stuff off of buildings as much as he used to, but I gotta have my Top Ten Fix.
=O= Saturday Night Live. I've been through the thick and the thin and the surprisingly thick and annoyingly thin, and I'll just ride this season out like I always do.
=O= Pardon The Interruption. C'mon! Two Washington Post writers yelling at each other for thirty minutes! Now that's entertainment!
=O=Morning Express. Seen every morning on Headline News, anchor Robin Meade tells me about the day's events in a nutshell. The fact that she's totally hot with a smokin' bod is merely icing on the cake. She also likes interaction with her viewers, and apparently she'll let any fool onto her show...
Other favorites, old and new... Mystery Science Theater 3000, Seinfeld, The Drew Carey Show, The Simpsons, Mad TV, Conan O'Brien (what'll happen to the Masturbating Bear once he moves to 11:30?), SportsCenter, The Monkees (the show was more than an album pimper!)... I watched Friends for a little while, but stopped when they got rid of the monkey. More sitcoms need monkeys.
Do magazines count? Electronic Gaming Monthly, MacLife, anything? Hmm.
I don't like heroes. I prefer meatball subs. Mmmmmm!
