I love the outdoors. I like to fish, rock climb, hike, camp, etc. I also love the theatre, film, photography, concerts (classical to pop to punk- no rap or hip hop though please). Mostly right now I study, teach and take one day adventures with my husband and daughter into the rainforest or elsewhere...
I'd like to meet:
Lots of people, probably people who enjoy traveling, who are adventurous (though not in any creepy, sadist, nasty ways), people who just enjoy meeting new people...
Music:
Like most kinds of music but not so much rap... just Emnem... Classical, jazz, blues, country, pop, rock, some folk, etc.
I'm an 80's baby for sure. I also love going to live concerts. There's just something about hearing the performers live and realizing that it's just them and their talent (or lack of). I admire their ability to put themselves out there like that as I am a terrible performer and just freeze up.
I have taken my daughter to countless concerts and all day music fests. My husband and I also like to see the bigger names (Pixies, etc.) at big locations and like even more to see live music in run down, beat up, nasty hole-in-the-wall joints where we can have a good stiff drink, listen to our music and not be bothered by anyone sporting "flash", some drink of the night they try to push on everyone, or anyone who thought way too hard about what they were going to wear out to the "club" that night.
I like socializing, but I'm not overtly social. I have a tendancy to keep to myself and when I'm at a concert, I just want to hear the music.
Movies:
LOVE movies... most all kinds... well, not porn... eeewww
Television:
I don't get the chance to watch much tv anymore. I have a tendancy to like old sitcoms and dramas (we have Magnum PI, Dallas, Northern Exposure, Friends and Sopranos on DVD).
I love the History Channel, Discovery, National Geographic. But, as I'm in NZ right now I have three channels and none of them have those shows. However, we DO have old reruns of Bewitched and Knight Rider! Sweeet! Gotta love "The Hoff". ;)
Books:
I read journal articles and heady books all the time for my studies so enjoy Harry Potter in the off time... when there is any.
Heroes:
Yeah, not anyone in particular. I'm a big fan of boot-strappers. You know, those of us who were not born into any kind of wealth or privilage who've had to work their asses off and pull themselves up by their own damn boot-straps. Yeah, those kind of people help drive me.
