Dare to live a forgiven life

About Me

I moved to Kansas City in September '06 from Washington D.C. and I LOVE it here!!! I have a great job, great friends, great church community, and I couldn't be happier! I could and can eat Mexican food everyday because I secretly wish I were Mexican...shhhh....okay, not really. I am passionate about helping others and living life to the fullest. I would love to someday become a legal guardian for someone. I currently work as a behavior consultant, writing behavior intervention plans and skills aquisition programs for children with autism. I love to sing, dance, laugh, and just have fun! My ultimate dream come true would be to have a jam session with Tori Amos...ahh dreams are nice! My Interests

Learning more and more about autism, watching movies, listening and singing to music, dancing, attending my church group (Fusion) and bible study, playing with animals, going to restaurants, traveling, and anything else that sounds interesting/fun...

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet people who have a passion for something...anything....if you wake up everyday psyched that you get to do what you love....then I would LOVE to talk to you!!!

Music:

HUGE Tori Amos fan (okay I know what you're thinking....I do NOT hate men), Black Eyed Peas, Dixie Chicks, Sarah McLachlan, Rilo Kiley, Regina Spektor, Allison Kraus, Rufus Wainwright and Howie Day. Check out Jamie Cullum, Billy Redfield, Ingrid Michaelson, The Wreckers, James Morrison, Sean O'Reilly, Ceu, Alana Davis, Alev Lenz, KT Tunstall, Jon Shirley, kate Nash, Justin McRoberts, the Barons, and Sheena Morris...I am expecting great things from them! And you can say you heard it here first :)

Television:

I am addicted to Grey's Anatomy! Seriously? Seriously! I also love reality shows especially American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. I am becoming a LOST fan. I love watching Fraiser, Sex and the City, and Will and Grace reruns.

Books:

I collect old Alice in Wonderland books...okay let's be honest...I collect Alice in Wonderland anything. Let Me Hear Your Voice by Catherine Maurice, Eva's Story by Eva Scholass, The Alchemist by Paulo Coleho, Seizing Your Divine Moment by Erwin Raphael McManus (this book has changed my life forever!), One Child by Tory L. Hayden, She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb, The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Album, The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, and all of the Narnia Chronicles by C.S. Lewis.

Heroes:

Most importantly...Jesus Christ! All those parents out there living day to day with children who have autism. You have my upmost respect! Frida Kahlo.....wow, talk about an amazing triumph over adversity. And of course Tori Amos. She is such an inspiration. She has taught me that when something negative hapens to you, it is up to you to then turn it into something positive that can benefit others in the same situation. And hello, my parents!!! Without them I would never be where I am today. I am truly blessed!
