As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.
Bonnie Parker, Jesus, Malcolm X, and my direct African ancestors and slave ancestors. And beautiful women (is that shallow?). I'd also like to rekindle old friendships so if you see me and you recognize me, hit me up.
Hip-hop: Gnarls Barkley, Rick Ross (whip it real hard!), Common, the Roots, Talib, Shawn Carter, Nas, Jeezy, Kanye, OutKast. I like mainstream and "underground." But seriously there has been a dearth of good hip-hop lately.Non hip-hop: Sade, Heather Headley, Floetry, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Angie Stone, Vivian Green, Keyshia Cole, Corinne Bailey Rae.
Some of my favorites are Scarface (that goes without saying), Goodfellas, Casino, Tombstone, The Natural, Necessary Roughness, Training Day, The Usual Suspects, The Paper Chase, Gigli (just kidding; but seriously, it wasn't as bad as all the hype said it was), and Fight Club.
I don't watch alot of shows religiously. However, some shows I do watch on the regular are Sportscenter, Chappelle's Show (before the cancellation), Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage (it's the male Sex and the City), Boston Legal, and SNL (it's been funny lately thanks to an influx of new talent).
Favorite books include "A Prayer for Owen Meany," "Frankenstein," "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde," "The Picture of Dorian Gray," "Things Fall Apart," and "The 48 Laws of Power" (not saying I agree with everything but it's an interesting read).
My parents.
