The gifted rapper "DEPAKANE" who prefers to be known as either an Artist or an MC, was born in London England in 1985 and moved to Brooklyn N.Y a couple months later with his mother, they soon ended up in "Crown Heights" during the infamous crack epidemic where he was exposed to much more than the average child his age, he was raised by his grandmother who came from Grenada to help his mother while she worked and studied to advance in her career, during this time "Dep" as they call him spent alot of time to himself and found more satisfaction in solitude than in the company of others and began to take on an anti social personality aside from the select few in his circle. however his withdrawal from society only increased his imagination and the determination to reach what he saw for himself rather than the map already laid out for his generation.Before he was "Da D" Dep called himelf "D INFMS 1" however with everyone calling themselves Infamous nowadays he gave himself an edge by giving it the license plate appeal and making each letter standing for something "Implementing Notions Fortifying Massive Strength" personally meaning a quest to take over any and everything he sets his mind to, he still uses this name but it has become secondary. Given the name DEPAKANE by an ex rap/business partner "IBEX", Dep certaintly uses his rap name to its full potential when asked what the name "DEPAKANE" actually stands for he explains "The name depakane comes from a medication called "Depakene" which is used to treat seizures, I went with Depakane cause it sounds better but the same concept is behind it, in a metaphorical sense my presence in this game brings stability and restoration Hip Hop is in dyer need of the two, but just like any other drug one should be prepared for the side effects, meaning whatever can be viewed from me and deemed as negative I believe my cause to be positive however I feel sometimes you have to do bad to do good, it might seem a little too complex for a rap name but it lets you know off the bat im not the typical bottle poppin', im so hot look at my rims rapper."And typical is far from the word to describe Depakanes musical style, what probably stands out the most is his powerful voice, but combined with a swaggerish flow and intelligent lyrics Dep has the intense wordplay and aggression of an underground MC with the charisma and bounce of a commercial rapper he touches subjects from police brutality and social injustice to christianity and its plan to monopolize on spirituality (Deep), from having a good time wit the peeps to why did Bush knock down the towers to start a war? you never know what to expect musically from Depakane because theres no one set script that he sticks to but one thing thats for sure is its always worth the listen!!!!!!
