This band has always been a way for me to get my ideas out in a rather pure form. When bands write, the music that gets written is generally a compromise - the amalgamation of 5 people's input, but I'm lucky enough to have complete creative control whenever TMD gets together. Fortunately, I've had friends kind enough to lend me their talents in the studio and on the stage and let me have my way, for which I'm definitely grateful.
Musically, TMD is a distillation of my favorite elements of punk music's darker edge. The major influences that drive TMD's sound include The Misfits, Samhain, Danzig, American Nightmare, AFI, Son of Sam, Sisters of Mercy and Joy Division.
Right now I'm working on a follow up release to 1931-1981. I'm not sure what it will be called, but it will feature something like 15 new tracks. Expect a more refined, less formulaic song writing style this time around.
