BIO
Occupation: Recording Artist, Music Writer & Publisher, TV Host, Public Relations Specialist
If you're an avid viewer of television, or listen to pop/dance radio, then you may already know Richie Rosati. If not, then welcome to his world.
Rosati is a Songwriter, ASCAP Music Writer and Publisher, Recording Artist working with numerous labels, and national TV Host. He currently has numerous songs airing on radio stations all over the country and overseas.
Rosati grew up in a musical, Roman Catholic, Italian, family and attended the Girard Academic Music Program High School in Philadelphia (GAMP). After graduating from high school, he attended college at Philadelphia University until he left Philadelphia to live and work in Hollywood, California where he was offered talent representation with The David Wilder Agency located on the Universal Studios lot in Hollywood.
While Rosati was promoting his music career in Hollywood, he met and began working with his first record producer, George Reich, while hanging out pushing song demos on dance club dj's at various Hollywood night spots.
George Reich is credited with discovering Rosati musically. The two began working out of Reich's recording studio in Hollywood on a song demo for Rosati's first radio played single "Fast & Nasty Girl".
"I had no clue what I was doing back then. I knew how to write music and lyrics to my own songs, but I really didn't know too much about the technical end of everything in the studio. I learned really fast though in George's studio in Hollywood. I spent hours there when I wasn't acting. We'd record until the wee hours of the night."
Both Reich and Rosati began shopping the completed song demo to Los Angeles and New York City record labels and DJ's. Hollywood DJ's started playing the song demo in the dance clubs right away. The demo caught the attention of DJ Vinny Lombardi back in Rosati's hometown Philadelphia. Lombardi was a radio DJ for WPWT 91.7 FM Dance Radio and the first radio station dj to ever spin Rosati's music on commercial radio airwaves.
When Rosati's talent agency relocated their offices to New York City, Rosati headed back east as well. While promoting out of New York now, he met and started working with another record producer named Rob Federici. Federici asked Rosati to redo the song on a more advanced level so that commercial radio stations could air the song more rapidly.
With the help of Program Director Glenn Kalina and Music Director Pam Grund at that time, the commercial version of Fast & Nasty Girl ended up making it onto the airwaves of Philadelphia’s most popular dance radio station WIOQ-Q102 FM. Rosati began doing promotional club performances for the station to promote the song.
From the massive airplay Rosati received on that station, and with the help of Woody Dyer and Nate DeLego, Rosati landed a distribution deal with Universal Records Distribution. As Rosati's first single continued to be played on Q102 FM, other US stations jumped on the band waggon and started airing the song as well.
Rosati said, "I felt relieved. The distributor did much of the foot work for me as far as shipping the single to worldwide stores so I was able to spend more time creating my music and deal with the radio Program Directors more exclusively."
It was during this time that Rosati landed a part in the film titled "Home Of Angels" opposite Sherman (George Jefferson) Hemsley and Abe (Fish) Vigoda. I remember while doing the film groups of young kids who were fans of my song would hang out on the movie set. The director of the film didn't know I had a song on the radio until all of these kids showed up with my CD in hand asking me to sign it. It was very surreal to me. I think he felt he should of given me a much bigger role after that. "
Rosati then recorded the single "Metropolis", which caught the attention of Henry Stone and Paul Klein who owned the internationally distributed dance record label HOT Records, which was based out of Miami. The executives at HOT Records matched Rosati with yet another Producer (Bobby "LA" LaSerra), who owned and operated the HOT Records sub label Strong Island Records. LaSerra, Rosati, and the executives at HOT Records released several remixes of "Metropolis" worldwide.
Rosati said, "I use to call Paul and the HOT crew everyday. I would come up with all kinds of marketing ideas to run by them. Since I consider myself to be a good self marketer, I just couldn't sit back and do nothing. I was a real pain but they loved me for it."
Rosati then released another dance single titled "Inside Your Love" on Universal Records which obtained more US radio and overseas play.
His current singles are "Get Down With My Love", "Hollywood", and "Stay" which are getting radio play in the US and overseas.
While Rosati continues hosting and acting on TV, he is also back in the recording studio recording new music.
Rosati recently also released his own Phillies World Series single called "Fightin' Phils" that has been featured on Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware radio stations, and has received over 10, 000 downloads after it was posted to the Fox TV's official website for the Phillies (PhilliesPhever.com). He has been recording music for several Philadelphia sports teams.
"I have my own recording studio now in my home so it is much easier to wake up at 4 am if I hear something in my head, an idea, that I want to lay down tracks to... With Fightin' Phils, I collaborated with my good friend and Director Debi Marcucci, who is an established director who knew the Phillies team stats. Debi co-produced the song with me and also co-wrote lyrics. I made her the director of the project and we couldn't believe the amount of press and radio play it received."
Rosati is now working as a tv host for a new tv show that he can't yet reveal information about as it is in the development stages, but promises it will be worth watching and available on network tv.
Rosati's singles continue to be aired on commercial radio both in the US and overseas.

Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today it was still worth it. Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could. The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I've walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, through it, and above".....Gia Carangi
