Laughing…
Making people laugh is a reward
I smile whenever I see someone laugh
I smile in my heart
This is what I do
It keeps deep, dark thoughts and feelings
Out from creeping into my mind
It helps keep problems nowhere to be seen
When I see you smile
A genuine smile
Then my emotions burst
Help me through another mile
Then something hits me
And clouds start to form
Everything gets dark
Everything’s out of the norm
Explosions of blackness
Darkness, deep sadness
Creeping, slithering
Leaving me like I’m lifeless
Yes, I am loner
But I am a lover, too
I walk alone
In my arms, is you
In my mind,
I run away, I hide and cry
And when I do,
I slowly start to die
And when I am ‘nowhere to be seen’
I try to scream
“Please, somebody find me!”
But I am drowning in tears
So even though you see a smile
Maybe I am really crying
And maybe, just maybe
You could carry me a mile
the last exile
