Producer Kus Aka Paul Carson

About Me

Paul Carson was born in Northern Ireland in the year of 1978. He is a trained pianist/keyboard player and sat several exams with the london college of music in the 90`s. But... then he discovered dance music and he soon drifted from the mainstream music that the exam board required you to play. He got in touch with electronic music over 12 years ago. His studio back then consisted of an Amiga 500 computer on which he would program beats using Octamed Studio. In 1997 he got his first release on the covermounted cdrom with Magazine 'CU Amiga'. With excellent feedback from the readers & DJ's, Paul continued releasing electronic beats released via his website www.djkus.co.uk. In the modern day of technology Paul's studio is currently based around a PC using Reason 3.0 with a Novation Remote 25 midi controller and a casio synth.Paul now uses his second artist ego "KUS", he is focusing on Ambient Breakbeat and Drum'n'Bass with his first release this year 'Bassdrive' The track will be out April/May on Gorilla Dub Records. "Bassdrive" has been received well to date & has had airplay on Swedish radio station Baltic Beats.

Influences: "Liam from the prodigy produced some great breakbeat in the 90s and it was about then that I started to play with samples on my Amiga 1200 using octamed sound studio. I love mobys stuff and think everything he does is great. ok, some people (DJRhu!) might take the piss out of my ambient stuff calling it mobyesque but hey, if you sound anything like moby then thats cool!"
