Camp Amazing started as all great works, with a man and dream. That Giant of man, was the good Doctor Johnathan Landis, who on the 4th day of august 1913, suddenly suffered a spell and colapsed, whilst staring into the ocean. Minutes turned into days, days into weeks, and still the doctor slept. And so he remained until one day mid march, when the nurse watching over him realized that his fingers clutched a pencil, and upon a small portion of his linen, was scrawled the word, "amazing". The hand then went dead, and he remained asleep for 3 more months. Upon waking, and after shaving, he promptly puchased a large amount of property in the newly developed Capitol Hill district. He began to construct a house, a fortress, he would later say. A camp for those of similar disposition he would remark to those passing by. It was whispered by those surroundign him that he was building a house to contain and hold the wild dreams and ideas that had come to him whilst comatose. It was on the first of October 1914 that the house was finally finished. Just as the sun was setting and the crowd long since disappated, DR. Landis disappeared. The next day he returned, but he was not alone. In tow, he had with him, a veritable rogues gallery of geniuses and artists. Several opium smoking poets, 8 musicans, a prophetic tattooed man from a county unheard of, the world's greatest living Archer, and 2 parlour magicians. This was the first class of Camp amazing. They took up resides in the Camps halls and waited and wondered, occasionally smoking, sometimes leaving only to be replaced in time, by the annual recruiting meetings. pulling new hopefuls into it's holy ranks. Always looking forward, still being lead by the tachings of Dr. Johnathan Landis. For that is the way of The Amazinger's.
