About Me

I started up my first band 'District Nurse' when I was 13 and began to write songs around that time. The Nurse was together for about two years and spawned three underground hits ('We Were Gods', 'Falling Through Shadows' and 'Tribes') before it crumbled apart like a three-month-old birthday cake. Despite this setback, I continued to write songs until the summer of 2005 when I formed an acoustic two piece with Mr.Simon White (second cousin of Jack White) and we played our first gig at the Heavenly Social (N1) in London on August 15th. *** About a week later I recorded an instrumental track of mine with the pop/indie group Saint Etienne. The song, entitled 'Mervyn's Theme', became part of the soundtrack to the low-budget film 'What Have You Done Today, Mervyn Day?',directed by Paul Kelly, which has been viewed by at least 30,000 people (I reckon) since its release.*** Mr.White and I no longer play together. For a while I had a band called Mervyn that I formed with Kevin Kearsley, John Ireland, Chris Picket and, later, Ed Rixon. That's also finished with now, as is the three-piece that I formed subsequently with Ed and Chris from Mervyn. Today, I mainly spend my time writing and recording but I do play the odd acoustic gig. If you would like to book me for gigs please contact me either through myspace or e-mail me at [email protected].
