As soon as you meet him you understand why first impressions are so important. Home grown on Chicago’s south side, PAYPA brings that old feel good music back to the Hip Hop new era. While in route to pursue his love for music an ironic turn of events forced PAYPA and his family to relocate. His younger brother who was suffering from renal failure (kidney failure),was blessed with the opportunity to receive a kidney transplant. Fortunately for PAYPA and his family they found themselves in sunny southern California, in a city called Moreno Valley. Unfortunately the aid of a new kidney was not enough for PAYPA’s younger sibling. He had ten strong years but then later passed due to this fatal malfunction of a weak kidney. This only fueled the fire in young Marcus. While rich in culture and history, the I.E. (Inland Empire) is unfortunately an after thought in the Hip Hop community. For the last ten years the nation’s fastest growing metropolis has waited for the right artist to bring attention to the area. Looking to change all of that is PAYPA. Who is out to prove that his new found stomping ground has more to offer than just missions and orange groves! With the release of his album “220”, (Two Twenty) which stands for second to none, you will hear talent that has been yearning to be released.
