About Me

I am an artist and writer in Cleveland, OH, my artwork is created combining my own photographs, recycled advertising art, found objects and other items. Broken mirrors are a recurring theme. It's always extra special when I can "rescue" discarded mirrors from the side of the road. The blank canvas becomes a puzzle where I can create my own landscape. To me, each one is a surreal scene or glittering diorama it's more like you're looking "into" them rather than "at" them. I have also started to make shadow boxes, I have about 4 of them so far. I have had many art shows in the Cleveland, Ohio area and have been working on my art since 1996. Click on the "PICS" section to see some photos of some of my artwork. Past shows include the TREMONT ART WALK and the BEREA ARTS FESTIVAL. My art has been on display at THE CLIFTON WEB in Lakewood, THE POP SHOP in Lakewood, LOCAL GIRL GALLERY in Lakewood and the PARADISE GALLERY in Cleveland Heights, a big thank you to all of them. A few years ago I gave it all a name, "Silens Femina Perspective." Also a big thank you to John Zazik III, who was the first person to encourage me to pursue this. In 2006, THE HOUSE OF BLUES in New Orleans purchased 2 pieces of my art to sell in their store. As of July 1 2009 there will be 3 pieces of my art on display and for sale at Heirloom, a new store on the 2nd floor of Tower City in downtown Cleveland, OH. For more information, call Heirloom at 216-298-5080, store hours are Mon-Sat 10-7 and Sun 12-6.******************************************************* * There is inspiration in everything, but I am most often inspired by old theaters, fountains, religious statuary, waterfalls, history, miniatures, astronomy, architecture, advertising art, abandoned amusement parks, as well as in the many strange & lovely items I salvage from thrift & second hand stores. Public fountains such as the Trevi Fountain in Rome (click on "VIDEOS" section to see The Trevi Fountain) are completely mesmerizing to me. As is the nostalgia of the early 1960's Christmas window displays in downtown Cleveland (click on "VIDEOS" section and watch the video entitled "Crazy Christmas"). I am a self-taught artist who just had an idea! Take a look at the the "PICS" section of this page to see the gallery of my art.If you would be interested in seeing more, please contact me via myspace or email me at [email protected]. ******************************************************There are people who have purchased my art and I don't know who you are. If you have something of mine, please drop me an email [email protected] or send me a message via myspace, I would love to hear from you. I really appreciate your support. Does anyone remember Flash's Concert Club? ********************************************************Unde r no circumstances may the material appearing on this website be resold or redistributed for compensation of any kind without prior written permission from the artist.
