I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am an aspiring concept artist and am currently working toward my MFA in Visual Development at the Academy of Art University here in San Francisco. I moved here from Chicago in January of 2006 to chase after my dream.

Painters are not in any way unsociable through pride, but either because they find few pursuits equal to painting, or in order not to corrupt themselves with the useless conversation of idle people, and debase the intellect from the lofty imaginations in which they are always absorbed. --Michelangelo (please note that Michelangelo believed himself to be first and foremost a sculptor. Perhaps he was attempting to defend his friends :P)

My Interests

Art (be it drawing, sketching, painting or watching other people take amazing photos - since i suck at it) Movies, music, anything outdoors, taking walks in the warm rain, dancing, and meeting new people, chillin with friends and hanging out at all night diners with friends, goofin off... ya know, the usual ;) And lets not forget night clubs with a dark theme, fetish balls (man was that ever fun) and goin crazy with anyone willin ;) Which literature classic are you?
Umberto Eco: The Name of the Rose. You are a mystery novel dealing with theology, especially with catholic vs liberal issues. You search wisdom and knowledge endlessly, feeling that learning is essential in life.

Michelangelo, Raphael (no, not the turtles!:P), Leonardo da Vinci, Bernini, Brunelleschi, Jacopo Tintoretto and all the other artists that got to live the life I only dream of (they never should have gotten rid of the apprenticeship system)

Music:

Just about everything, but my loves lie with rock, heavy metal, industrial, etc. For instance: Godsmack, Disturbed, Linkin Park, old Metallica, Pantera, Damage Plan, NIN, and Depeche Mode for good measure. I love rock concerts and when I go out I love hip hop and R&B, house, industrial to dance to. Catch me in a chill mood and I'm listening to Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington or some Loreena McKennit. If you think you see me listening to country or polka.... you've just mistaken someone else for me. :P

Movies:

Comedies, horror, suspense, mystery... ok so almost every type of movie except for the really brainless ones. Favs: Princess Bride, Ferris Bueller's day off, Seven, Silence of the Lambs, Star Wars IV-VI, Lord of the Rings, Spirited Away, Interview with the Vampire and...CLUTCH'S HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:
