VAMPIRE CATHEDRAL

About Me

Vampire Cathedral began in 1985 as Chucky Chernobyl's outlet for his experiments in sound and rhythm. Later that year he teamed up Notify 9X9's drummer Darryn Darque. Inspired by Japanese animation and splatter gore horror films they produced their own noisy scores for several of their favorite films using power tools, homemade percussion, and guitar distortion pedals......In 1988 Andy Baker and Joe Virus joined the group and recorded the "Bloodlust" sessions. They began to perform a few live shows incorporating abstract video loops and film reels......The band split in '89, and everyone started their own projects. Chucky started Acme 23, Joe and Andy became Solemn Assembly, and Darryn started Shadow Matrix with bass player Anna Ballistikk from Notify 9X9.The band regrouped in 1997 with a new lineup: Chucky, Darryn, Joe, Russ and Robb from Hard Sector Error. They played a handful of shows and the song "Puppy Beats Man" was featured on the TIAMP compilation CD TACTICS OF INFILTRATION.Chucky and Joe recorded several tracks together as Vampire Cathedral from '98-'04 including "Blood From Black Roses".In 2002 Darryn and Anna changed their project's name from Shadow Matrix to CRASH FETISH and started pumping out turbo charged EBM with car crashes as the underlying theme. In 2004 Anna moved back to Spain to be with her family and Darryn enlisted Joe Virus to even out the sound. In 2006, they returned to the studio bringing their own individual styles to the mix as a collaboration between VAMPIRE CATHEDRAL and CRASH FETISH. Chucky Chernobyl's Experimental Noise elements along with Darryn Darque's Terror EBM beats pound out their blend of industrial percussion, with Joe Virus' vocal madness tying it all together.' ' 'Vein Decisions, the first Vampire Cathedral full length retrospective CD was released through Zer0 Klash Audio in December 2008. Joe and Russ have been working on a new live show for Vampire Cathedral while Chucky has been writing new material for the project.Vampire Cathedral will definitely put holes in your eardrums...
