About Me

I have many many books that I have never read. Some of them I never will, probably. But I associate myself with them, and they have a certain aura about them that says "Hey. This guy... is intelligent." I go to college at MTSU and I don't mind it too much... Im an English major and think I could grow into a love of teaching, hopefully. Otherwise I will just have to settle for being a brilliant author whom occasionally tours with his indie-rock band and is adored by his amazing wife, whom he loves with all his heart. This I am working on as well. If I weren't poor, I'd eat Indian food a lot more, and if I were rich I would give a whole lot of foreign aid to India, and then India would give me a small political position in one of their major cities where I could eat real Indian food all the time. So many unrealistic plans, so little time. I better get on this life thing.

My Interests

Readin, writin, not so much 'rithmatic-in. Driving, singing, guitaring, making homosexual innuendos (only because of the complete security I feel with my heterosexuality). Theology, biology, philosophy. Kites, hikes, and even dykes (gotta love everyone, people. No exceptions). God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost (Pentacostals use the word "ghost" in place of "spirit". Way cooler.) Food of all shapes, sizes, types, flavas. I tried to be a vegetarian once, but then I forgot. I want to get into Opera, someone help me get into it. Seriously. Folk music, rock music, jazz music, love music, one music, two music, red music, blue music. And though it should be inferred from my love of Christ, perhaps, I am very interested in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His message, person, and Kingdom. I am not arrogant enough to think that I have found God, but He has certainly found me. Always willing to talk about anything real, be it imaginary or actual.

I'd like to meet:

This...is Sufjan Stevens. Whom I love. Love him with me.
Palm Sunday Tornado Hits Crystal Lake from Asthmatic Kitty on Vimeo .

Music:

Currently: Iron and Wine - The Sea and the Rythm. And might I add that I have chosen a current favorite album of all time that will be subject to change at any time. Currently...U2's The Joshua Tree

Movies:

The Burbs, Hitchcock, Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Singin in the Rain, LotR Trilogy, Charlie Chaplin, Memento, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Hearts in Atlantis, Garden State, American Beauty, Vanilla Sky, anything Sam Raimi, The Big Lebowski, Millers Crossing, Raising Arizona, The Man Who Wasn't There, Barton Fink, anything Peter Jackson, Wes Anderson, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Martin Scorcese, Lost in Translation, Girl with the Pearl Earring, and many others, etc, etc...

Television:

The X-Files is the greatest show EVER! Except when Mulder got abducted, and they got that Doggett guy on there, who completely sucks and has no personality at all, plus the whole dynamic of the show is thrown off. I mean, half of what made the show so great was the relationship between Mulder and Scully: the brother/sister/best friend buddy thing they had going on, the clash between Mulder "the believer" and Scully "the cynic", the thick sexual tension in certain situations, etc, etc.... I love you David Duchovny...

Books:

G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, the early Church fathers, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Flannery O'Conner, Shakespeare, Salinger, Capote, Willa Cather, etc.

Heroes:

I more or less look up to my friends. I try to choose company where I feel among my betters.
