Your life has as much meaning as you're willing to give it

About Me

My full name is Shannon Lindsey Whitfield Blanks *my mom swears she didn't want a girl, but I guess I'll never know for sure. I'm an aspiring filmmaker who needs to spend at least a couple of hours in a dark movie theater every couple of weeks or I go through withdrawals. I attended Savannah College of Art and Design and have recently relocated to Los Angeles, California. I think for now the best way to describe me is "A Work in Progress", so stay tuned and I'll let you know how everything turns out. Til then...

My Interests

Movies, Movies, and Movies...and anything else that can broaden my horizons

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with an open mind is always cool. And of course anyone who believes in the power of motion pictures to touch, move, educate, and entertain us (i.e., if you are movie junkie, you're cool in my book)... Now if you can arrange a face-to-face with David Fincher I'll take that as well...

Music:

Radiohead, Prince, The Strokes, Daft Punk (especially "Discovery"), Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down, Weezer, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Mos Def, Eminem, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey, The Dears, The Mars Volta, Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, Muse, Bloc Party, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Queen, Johnny Cash, Sam Cooke, Michael Jackson (the old school Mike), Jon Brion (composer/producer), Movie Scores (my favorite composition is "A Thin Red Line")...the list goes on and on

Movies:

To name a few... Fight Club, Dr. Strangelove, Do The Right Thing, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Annie Hall, Se7en, Clockwork Orange, Citizen Kane, In the Mood for Love, E.T. (Extra Terrestrial), Requiem for a Dream, Raise the Red Lantern, Taxi Driver...and many, many others

Television:

Sorry to be honest, I never watch TV. But if I did I would have to watch "South Park"

Books:

The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (Michael Chabon) Wonder Boys (Michael Chabon) The Tesseract (Alex Garland) The Beach (Alex Garland) Lolita (Vladimir Nabokov) Survivor (Chuck Palahniuk) The Lords of Discipline (Pat Conroy)

Heroes:

Anyone whon has gone through the trouble to find out what they want to do with their life and has actually been courageous enough to pursue that with no reservations. My hat goes off to you...
