Hi there. Thanks for stopping by MYspace.. I am a fine artist from Southern California. My artist bio is on my website if you would like to take the time to read it. Otherwise I will just tell you a few things about myself. At age five I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Later it was found to be Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) a rare form of MD that affects the lower limbs. Sports weren’t an option so I played drums. The few art and science projects we got in elementary school were always enjoyed. Subsequently I played most percussion instruments throughout Jr. High school. At age 14 I started experimenting with a 35mm camera, which led to taking photography throughout High School. In that time I discovered the work of Francesco Scavullo and knew for certain I wanted to make images of people. After graduation I tried my hand at professional photography, which later led me to Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. What a fantastic place and time... The first time I walked through the hallways and smelled creativity at work I wanted to be there. Instantly. Also during my second term I attended Joe Blasco makeup school in Hollywood anticipating shooting many models for assignments. Getting to paint on three dimensional canvases was interesting and hoped that one-day I could bring my interests together. To gain the ability to produce every step of making photographically influenced art. Arcangelo Dante Ferrante “Archie†was my first term black and white photography instructor. He was the inventor of the Codelight and a walking photo encyclopedia. Amazingly witty and honest. After completing ACCD I later studied painting and stone sculpting privately for years under the guidance of various colleagues and friends. Each being talented, intelligent and gracious to me with their knowledge. People that I appreciate very much and was so blessed and fortunate to have met along the way. Having said all of that, keep your dreams alive. It’s not about what you can’t do it’s what you can do. Contrary to different opinions of a person’s life most of us on any given day have many things we can afford to do that just needs the idea and determination to try it. The domino effect opens doors and leads people into even more options and chances to grow.
Peace,
KW
