The Hoydens!
Four Years have passed since The Hoydens began their foray into the big bad world of music and, even at this tender stage; things appear to be heading in the right direction.
With a very impressive review of their debut album, Published Emotions, having already made its way into the pages of the Daily Record, the band could be making the final step to stardom in the not to distant future.
The Hoydens sprang into existence, after a few stutters and stammers with line-up problems, in summer 2005 when Jamie, Johnny and Sharyn accosted an unsuspecting Sandy who was minding his own business at a Catrine bus stop. Many would see this as an excuse to start dishing out ASBOs and a sound thrashing or two but not the mild-mannered Sandy, who agreed to play bass guitar at a forthcoming gig.
Needless to say the gig was a huge success and the band retired to the mountains where all four lived happily ever after, shunning electricity, sugary drinks and insulated homes.
But after an outbreak of beard-rash and several life-threatening cases of frost-bite the hastily hit the gigging trail again, performing at venues throughout Ayrshire and wowing the crowds at Glasgow haunts such as the Cathouse, The Garage, The Capitol and Fury Murry’s.
It’s been quite the whirlwind for the local foursome and this may only be the start with a busy schedule facing them in the coming months.
