It began in early 2006, when two bored young men decided to strike out from the cultural and literal wasteland of North Somerset into the mysterious lands of Myspace. There they wandered for days, lost amongst an arid desert of whores, creationists and really crap bands from Norwich, until one day lo! They espied a strange shape on the horizon. What could it be, wondered their sharp young minds? Creeping slowly closer, the thing began to take shape. It was Peter who first recognised it; the once great but now tired and broken down old bandwagon known as Wizard Rock. How did such a wonderful old institution get into such a state? As they drew nearer, however, a cry rang out from somewhere aboard the bandwagon. "Go away! We don't want your sort here! This wagon is far too full already!". Indeed, as they looked closer they saw a great variey of desperate figures, clutching battered guitars and knackered drum machines, tattered red and gold scarves draped loosely around their necks, hanging out every door and window, forcing the wheels to sink down into the sand under the enormous weight of those aboard. There looked to be no room aboard whatsover. Somehow, however, through a mixture of dashing good looks, heated political debate and schoolboy charm they managed to worm their way aboard and set about fixing up the bandwagon, fitting it with a new set of wheels, 27" chrome alloys and a pumping sound system. These two figures became instant legends, nay Gods, amongst the Wizard Rock commune, and took upon the name of The Hedwig Collective.
