Well I'm Geoff. So yeah.... if you have the wrong number, please hang up and dial again.
I'm 22, and I am attending college for a Technical Writing degree, but I am confident I will become a creative writer, writing various works including poetry, short stories, novels, and philosophy. And I will find a way to accomplish this.
I often like to make th e joke "I am a self proclaimed genius". Now realize that I am joking and that I am not as ego centric as the statement makes me sound. One, you can not self proclaim genius and two, you can be anything with self proclamation. Its funny, trust me.
I think on a different level than most. Where as most people view issues as one side of the coin or the other, I think there is always an answer overlooked and will never settle for one or the other out of convenience. My mind operates at a different frequency where it is almost like there are several thought process strings flying through my mind, and I have to grab one and focus on that single string while all others are still flying through my mind in the background. I like writing, and do believe that one day, and possibly soon, I will write a book. I like to act the part of a fool, but when you get to know me, you realize how intelligent and wise I actually am. Also,m I can be, and often am cynical. I am happy with my life. I have wonderful friends, and would take a bullet for any of them, not that I wouldn't for others. I am one of those genuinely decent people that no longer exists. I believe lies and hiding the truth accomplishes nothing and creates nothing but problems later on. As Marx said, (paraphrased of course) there can be no change without conflict.
I also have two dogs that I consider mine, Comet and Sheena. Best companions a guy could ask for. I love animals. Sheena is very happy go lucky and a goofball. She and comet are living with my parents up in Jacksonville.
I am a comic toting, Simpsons quoting, movie knowing, geek. That's right, I said geek and proud of it. My two favorite superheroes are Batman and Spiderman. Star Wars kicks Star Trek's ass any day of the week. And even though the American viewers want to live the lie, Godzilla would easily beat King Kong. Radiation Breath, I mean come on! I am also learning the guitar, just started, so I suck and know it, but I plan on getting better. I have also taken up writing poetry, for I apparently have a knack for it and enjoy doing so when not forced for a school work assignment,.
I was also a member of the Robotics Lab at UCF from 2003 - 2005 (website is robotics.ucf.edu). I worked on the autonomous platform known as RDB3K for two years with Gary Stein, Gavin Barnes, and Chase Hansel. We took finalist position (top 6) in 2005. I have also done fundraising for the lab as well.
I love reading when I have time. I think the works of Douglas Adams should be promoted in schools! I am a sci-fi reader, but will also read the occasional political book. I also read graphic novels (series of comic books), and Frank Miller is a God. And if anyone ever wants to get me a book as a gift, you can never go wrong with philosophy. I will consume those books up at an extraordinary rate.
I love going to conventions, especially if it means I can get use out of my Ghostbusters uniform.
I am very liberal. I have disowned the current U.S. Government. I am a firm believer that we are following the path of Rome and are entering an empirical decline. I may be wrong though, after all, we can always pull a 1984. For those who have not read the book, the slogan of Oceania was "WAR IS PEACE. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH." That is all I should have to say.
I strongly believe in protecting the environment and hate the current administration for what they have done to this planet. Sure, other resources are available to use besides fossil fuels, and cheaper, but then we would have no reason to goto war for oil. See the problem here?
I strongly believe that the American people deserve better than what we are receiving. I could list such things as education, medication expenses, lifestyle freedom, and so on, but you guys don't have time to read that. We need to reform America where religion has no influence so that peoples beliefs don't contradict, modify, interpret, or influence U.S. law . Its really not hard people. I want a better future for the future. I want my kids to grow up in a world of peace and love, not one where blood is spilled over religious disputes. The Middle Ages are over you know.
I am also a fan of art. It relaxes me like few things to. I wish at times the arts festivals in Florida were more like the ones in Seattle where they display wonderfully beautiful pieces of art instead of sub par pieces sitting around just to sell hot dogs at $3 a pop.
So that is me, if you would like to know anything else, please, do not hesitate to ask. Who knows, you may even inspire a rant by yours truly.
