About Me
I got into the live music scene a few years ago after being asked to provide some PA for a Jam Night, and I've never looked back. Spend far too much money on speakers, amps, outboard equipment, mixers etc etc, but it's just too much like fun!! Carved bit of a reputation for quality sound in the Barnet/Enfield area, which I am rather chuffed about. The pinnacle of my sound "career" so far is mixing for Sweet City Fire at the Carling Islington Academy. What a rush!It is my opinion that live music is a tremendously powerful binding force between people. It doesn't matter what the style is - punk, pop, rock, ska, whatever - because like-minded people are drawn together to enjoy the music, and often become good friends in the process. It has been my privilege to assist some damn fine bands and I feel honoured to play a small part in their creative process. It is just a bit disappointing that local authorities don't do enough to facilitate live music performances in all its forms. There are far too few venues around, certainly this is true in the Potters Bar/Barnet/Enfield area. Even one permanent live music venue would be nice!! I think if those "in charge" understood the positive force that music represents, they might pull their collective fingers out.The good news is that we do now have a serious music venue in Whetstone, North London - The Real Music Club (formerly The Bull & Butcher), where I have a sound & lighting installation. Check it out, dudes!!Here's the dull bit - my day job is as a Computer Consultant for NonStop systems, formerly known as Tandem. (If you stuff a card into a cash point, then you will be connected to a NonStop machine.)
