DJ Iceman - Axefm.co.uk Thursdays 10pm-12am

Hailing from South East London, DJ Iceman has been mixing since the age of 16. He bought his first pair of decks in the Summer of 2000 still aged 16 and just out of Secondary School.
Iceman started playing UK Garage like all the underground DJ’s he had been listening to for years on Upfront 99.3fm.
Still Playing UK Garage and buying all the classics and latest releases, iceman gradually started to get into the new sound called Grime. Although he had been listening to it for a couple of years, it was now readily available in the same shop he bought his UK Garage vinyl from, Uptown Records in Soho.
In 2002 Iceman joined a crew from his local area. After 4 or 5 radio shows on 95.5fm they decided to split as everyone was moving in different directions.
At the end of 2002 he started mixing for Tinie Tempah and Rebler on the same radio station. This lasted about 3 months until Tinie Tempah got signed to Aftershock.
Around the summer of 2003, Iceman was recruited to a North London based crew called Disturbed Man Dem. They worked together for 3 years on Axefm and Manicfm until the end of 2006. They all decided to go their separate ways and look at what they wanted from music as they all felt some member’s weren’t putting their heart into the crew.
In 2007 Iceman decided it was time to go it alone and has been a solo DJ ever since. Working with a lot of MC’s and DJ’s from around the country and across Europe.
Since April 2007, Iceman has been working on a lot of projects with Deadly Nightshade (www.myspace.com/deadlynightshadefmk). Regular radio shows on Axefm and a lot of networking soon saw them get bookings in Paris and most recently, Berlin.
2008 has bought them a lot of bookings together although not officially a crew, they are just 2 people into the same music and working on the same projects and with the same work rate. See Booking section below for more information on where to see them performing.
As you can see from the Downloads section in the blogs, Iceman hasn’t forgotten his roots and is still mixing UK Garage (2 step/4x4/bassline).
