Email Address:
frenjen is an indie rock back from Florida. frenjen is an experiment in indie rock. It blends distortion and discontent with synthesizers; raw, raspy vocals with resonating melodies. The end result is a moody guitar driven sound comparable to Action Action, Beck, Cut Copy, Dinosaur Jr. and the Eels.
frenjen was born of frustration in 1996, out of a need for a creative outlet after it's founder, Alex, had experienced the premature break up of several bands he was in and out of contempt for the state of modern music. The first EP, Who Spilled the Milk, was released in 1998.
Alex remains the primary member of the band, providing a majority of the lyrics, vocals and instrumentation and with a revolving cast of musical support, made up of friends and special guests, which change from time to time. Deciding to give his full attention to frenjen, Alex shed his corporate entanglements in 2006.
frenjen is managed by Ethos Management. They are currently in the studio working on new material to be released early 2007.
