THE STORIES ARE :SID:lead vocals& lights/percussionGIZ:lead guitarDAVE DRUMMER:drumsFINCHY:bass & backing vocals :THE HISTORY OF THE STORIES........ THE STORIES(NEWWAVE,SKA/MOD TRIBUTE BAND)were formed in august 2005 from the remnants of 2 chorley bands ..mod band "MODIFY" & hard core punk band "NAMELESS".gareth(giz),darren & andy(sid) of the band "modify" had parted with thier bass player simon (now of "ONE MIGHTY FALL")due to internal differences but still wanted to carry on as a band & a mate suggested asking finchy from "nameless" if he fancied joining as "nameless" had all but quit the scene,to the bands delight finchy said yes. the band practiced hard for a few months before the debut gig on november 14th 2005 at "the railway pub" in chorley creating a mod/punk crossover, the reaction of the crowd proved "the stories" was on to a winner ,a few sucessfull gigs were played to packed houses and then early feb 2006 darren decided to leave the band due to personal reasons, with a string of gigs lined up there was a rush to find a suitable drummer to cope with this high octains band work load...in steps dave(drummer)jones (at very short notice) formerly of "nameless",next pistols" & "pop idols". With the now classic stories line up complete it was time to carry on with the show...around april of 2006 we set about recording a 2track demo "eton rifles"& god save the queen" (also a live in the studio "love will tear us apart" (never released) which although sounding ok was not really to the bands liking as it didnt capture the bands live attitude as this is when they really shine through...this is the demo that appears on our "my space"....lots of gigs later and around oct-nov 2006 carl our sound engineer/manager/driver and his son rob (jnr sound engineer, roadie ) decided to leave the band due to life changes ,they were soon to be replaced by our old friend and old drummer darren ,darren left the band early in march 2008 due to work commitments and was replaced by another mate karl wilkie guitarist and former band member of daves band "pop idol" so the band rolled on ,"WITH OVER 300 GIGS" under their belt the band can be found gigging most of the time around the northwest of england ,their gigs are mentioned frequently on rock fm & chorley fm ,to get in touch with "the stories" log into their mail site at [email protected] or just leave us a message on our "my space
