SONIC360 BIO
One hazy morning in June 2000, world-renowned record producer Mr Christopher Allison (whose credits include work with The Beta Band, Dot Allison, Coldplay, Kinky and Plastilina Mosh) awoke to find he had married a toothless go-go dancer, had cartoon crazies Ren and Stimpy tattooed on his arse and launched a record label called Sonic360. All in all a pretty successful night, he thought and had some Alka-Seltzer! In the days following, Mr Allison gathered himself a crew of likeminded kids, who travelled the earth in the pursuit of amazing, boundary breaking music from the far reaches of our little planet. The crew, who had survived on naught but magic beans and a love for the tunes, soon began to discover there was a shocking amount of unheard talent out there. With some nurturing and a sprinkling of Sonic360 magic, the sweet music was recorded and released onto the unsuspecting globe. People of the world united in their love for our musicians and a small Mexican 5 piece band called Kinky went on to earn themselves worldwide acclaim, numerous Grammy nominations and a reputation for one of the best live experiences around.
Noticing a definite pattern in the hot styles Sonic360 was digging, Mr Allison thought it wise to develop sub-labels under the guise of Sombrero for Latin, funk, rock releases and Head+Arm for cool, electronic, experimentalism. Musicians came from far and wide and releases came thick and fast,. But with the changes in the music industry through 2004/2005 Sonic360 decided to brave the digital waters and launched the download only label. Releasing our music exclusively online proved a successful decision, and helped pave the way for the future of music consumption.
To this very day Sonic360 is scouring the darkest depths for hidden talent. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for new music released on Sonic360 and get in contact with the team if you think well enjoy your sound. Were always up for it and always listnin to it. So enjoy our myspace pages and check out www.sonic360.com for a more detailed look at our bits and bobs (although no picture of THAT Ren and Stimpy tattoo)
