I am 41 years old and have been a drummer / percussionist for 28 years. My experience includes being professionally trained in rudimental drumming and Latin percussion. My DCI drum corps training allowed me to work my way through college as Director of Marching Percussion at Watsonville High School, Watsonville, CA and as a visting clinician at various SF Bay Area High Schools. I have played in several country, jazz and Christian P&W bands since college. I am currently the drummer for County Road 101, a Texas Rock Band. I also "fill in" as needed for a number of Houston Area Churches including, Friendswood Community Church, Centerpoint Church, Seabrook United Methodist Church, Clear Creek Community Church, GTOP Community Church and others playing modern praise and worship music. I play to a click track / metronome at all rehearsals and performances!
I have my own Latin percussion equipment, professional acoustic drum set and professional 6 piece Hart Dynamics electronic drum set, Roland TD-6 sound module and amp system. It gives me access to 99 different sounding drum sets "on the fly". I also have a Pacific Drums by DW all Birch 5 piece acoustic kit - FS model with professional cymbals. My acoustic kit is Cherry red to black fade satin laquer! You can see pictures of my kits in "PICS" Section just to the left of this text.
I am a serious, disciplined musician and strive to perfection each time I perform and worship. I would be interested in discussing ideas to see if there is synergy and if God leads us to play / worship together.
A DRUMMERS PRAYER: The Lord is my drummer; I shall not rush.
He maketh me to 'lay out' in tasteful places;
He leadeth me beside cool meter and tempo changes;
He restoreth my "one" and give me many options in 5/4 and 9/8;
He leadeth me in the right repeats and teachest me the correct accents in bossa nova.
For His name's sake, he makes me immune to the trumpets 'dragging' and the keyboards 'rushing'

You setteth up a solo for me In the presence of mine guitarists; (inspite of the bass player)

And I will dwell 'in the pocket' the whole gig long .......(in spite of the leader)
