About Me

Well, I'm not sure what to say, so I'll do what I do best...ramble! I am 31 years old and first and foremost, I am learning to be a follower of Jesus. My hope and heart is that His character permeates my life and I live in His grace. I am married to an amazing man named Jason Rogers. Did I mention he's amazing? He's very talented- can play a variety of instruments, has an artistic eye (he's a great photographer, and yes, I'm biased) and has a great voice. Best of all, he has a great red beard! We have a 3 year old named Lillian and she is my miracle baby. She came almost 8 weeks early due to me having eclampsia and had to be delivered so we could both live. We are now doing wonderfully, thank the Lord! She is now trying to assert her will on a daily basis and our constant challenge is not to laugh when we get on to her (tell her "no") because she's so funny!! About me...I'm a Music teacher at an elementary in Cleveland, TN. I love my kids!! I was an RD at Lee University for 5 years. I've played the drums since I was 5 years old...and boy was it funny to watch people come into the church and see a 9 year old in a dress behind the drum set with a towel over her legs! I like to sing and read and take walks. I love good conversations about things that are meaningful. I also LOVE to laugh. I LOVE to teach. There arent many things that excite me more than someone's mental light bulb coming on! I love people. I believe the heartbeat of Jesus is for His church and my desire is to see His church reach maturity and be who He has called her to be. I am a fan of authenticity & transparency. I detest being fake and lies- I have found that nothing is impossible to deal with by the grace of God with the exception of someone who will not admit where they are (or are not) and be honest with themselves. Hmm...that's all for now I guess. I'll stop my rambling:-) This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Mostly anyone, although sometimes I'm shy when it comes to meeting some people....Historical figures: Obviously Jesus, Paul, Peter, Thomas- I would like to meet a person who's been through doubt and come out on the other side...Mother Theresa, Brennan Manning, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein, Dietrich Bonhoeffer (I think I spelled this right), Ghandi, Moses, David, Rahab, Ruth, Tamar, Esther, the early house church leaders (new testamant church leaders), Barnabas, Timothy, John, St. Augustine, St. Francis, Brother Lawrence, Andrew Murray, Smith Wigglesworth, John Wycliffe, George Whitefield, Martin Luther, Martin Luther King, Jonathan Edwards, Amy Semple McPhereson, John G. Lake, Samuel, Abe Lincoln, Albert Einstein, Bach, Beethoven, Mussorgsky, Mozart, Chopin...My ancestors from a few hundred years ago...and this list is getting too long!!!!
