They may have formed just under three years ago but Bristol’s The Following Announcement has squeezed more into three years than some manage to do in their lifetimes. Tours in the US, shows at some of the finest venues in the UK and support slots to make you drool, the Bristol trio have done it all and now with 2009 excitement stomping its way in, the band are out to make sure that theirs is a name that slides off every music fan’s tongue with ease.
Delivering their energetic brand of pop punk and entertainment, the band released their debut album back in 2007 entitled “The Art Of Conversation†that made it in the top 50 of the UK and Australian mp3.com charts.
. After spending the end of 2007 and early 2008 sampling tunes and supporting the likes of No Use For A Name and David Jordan they headed back into the studio for their second album “In Secret Placesâ€, Marking their first outing on Crash Records, the album was released in November 2008 and was marked as “A Potential Classicâ€. The Following Announcement gained a lot of critical acclaim, and with the release of the new album came the “Roll Up†tour spanning over two months in winter 2008.
Heading into 2009 the band gained support slots with The Atari’s, Fandangle and ska legends [Spunge] to kick off the year.
With a new E.P due out in July and a massive UK, France and Germany tour in the works it’s not hard to see why TFA should be the one English band this year on everyone’s stereo.
