About Me

The picture was taken in early 2004, and it still somewhat applies, but since 2006, it's been more like:
That strap broke recently, by the way.
For the rest:I'm a student who still has more time to be one (theoretically, I'll be a doctor... ah geez... but REALLY, not going to be a comedy writer), and in too many limbos to really flesh this out much further.
Music projects, listed from least to most in terms of live shows:
Solar Shadows
I guess you would consider this a "noise" band. I'll take your write-off, run with it, and wear it as a badge of pride. All music is noise.
We played our first official show under the name at the Pool Party House on April 14th.
Karthik Kakarala Ensemble
If you like Glenn Branca or the idea of electric guitar symphonic-arranged music, then you might already like this. The plan is 4 guitars and drums, but a 3 guitar+drums recording (the "Demo") is already up at this page.
Of Course You Realize...
The influences I put up there only suggest what influences me... I'm not even sure what to say as far as what it sounds like, but Jon Rose would have something to say about it.
Wicker Event
Some call it a local supergroup, I call it a band I'm in with two friends of mine, all of us having notoriety in different but nearby circles. When Phil lists us as partly "Screamo" he means he screams. Tim sounds like a lot of influences, and not just Techno-House. I'm part "Other," but I'm also part No-Wave, dance rock, and everything above. Maybe we'll play another show sometime.
More descriptions of these will be put up soon, if there is any interest. Until then, visit their pages.
I do a variety of work as Solar Shadows Productions (the name similarity with my band is intentional).
Recently, I have begun to start recording bands. I recently finished a quick practice-space demo for Benelli , and their mix of it is up on their MySpace.
Future Plans include:
Nu Standards
Bands that I have been involved in booking (in order from most recent at the top):
Hexovalent Chromosome
Watery Domestic
Mandroid (Destroyers of the Human Race)
The Smoking Popes
Latterman
The Blackout Pact
The Lawrence Arms
The Tossers
Finally, policies of Solar Shadows Productions:I'm not presently recording any band that I am not at LEAST MySpace friends with, and I am thinning the numbers of such to only include bands that I am either friends with, have at least met, or am quite nuts about. This is because they are the only sorts that I will record without asking for money, and I don't feel that my equipment is acceptable for any paid work at present (I have high standards).

My Interests

guitar, keyboards, harmonica, drums, my voice, radio, your mind, Enthusiasm, Language, drawing, painting, batik-ing, button making, Destroying the Sun, running, writing symphonies only I will like, scribbling nonsense words, making TV that only a handful of people will watch

I'd like to meet:

Theoretically, objects with properties that I can perceive that also happen to have the characterstic of possessing a MySpace profile, since this is where this answer is being viewed. The phantoms, wraiths, psychoses, and all the inhabitants of the stories described that I try to hint at through my stabs at artistic expression.

Heroes:

I'm striving to become more of an "Amateur Everything" and eventually an expert in very specific things. In the qualities of intent and execution of thoughts and actions, I push towards becoming the mortal equivalent of a hero (also inflated these days to be called "superhero," as if heroes aren't good enough outside of comic books). At the very least, I know I am succeeding by knowing that I would be considered a hero to a younger version of myself.

I'd be a liar, however, to say that there aren't examples that I draw inspiration from to make my upward climb. A few of them shall be noted here.
Puckett
Jared
Vehemence 6.2

It's safe to say that a way of determining a being's hero status is to similarly define how they are a villain to someone else.

Of course, there are heroes who don't provide an example, so much as an emotional anchor to get me through the day:
Drinky Crow
