About Me

Hi, thanks for clicking on to Domineeky's myspace page.
Domineeky's myspace page for all things musical - whether he's singing, composing, producing or remixing. He has many styles so always expect something different from him - from avant garde experimentation with vintage synths and primitive drumboxes to blending african beats with pop melodies and everything inbetween.
With a music career spanning more than 20 years that has seen him regularly creating new music in places as diverse as Freetown, Sao Paulo, Havana, New York, Buenos Aires and Sydney, composing for film, writing articles on songwriting for EMI publishing, helping develop new artists like 2009 Mercury music prize winner Speech Debelle, performing live at festivals with his band of nine international musicians, as well as running the award-winning Solzaf music and creative arts organisation,He is more in demand than ever.
His music and productions have been heard on Pleasure Republique, Megablock records, BigDada/Ninja Tune, Sky TV, BBC Radio, Channel4 and playlisted on Galaxy FM.
His music has also been used for numerous art exhibitions and installations. He is increasingly being called upon as a Musical Director for innovative film projects, such as the groundbreaking film commissioned by Mima entitled 'And this is Us' which focussed on the stories of refugees and immigrants in the North East of England.
Recent projects have seen him collaborating with the highly acclaimed musicians - guitarist Akin Fatumbi and griot Kora player Seikou Susso to push the boundaries of Afican music.
His latest World Music Project has seen him going back to his musical roots by drawing upon his Sierra Leone, Afro-caribbean and Arawak heritage as well as his love of jazz, funk and analogue synthesizers. Composing and recording have taken place in Brasil, Freetown (Sierra Leone), Switzerland, culminating in Havana (Cuba).
