The voice of Ni-Cola is undeniably a strong, soothing alto sound that clearly surpasses her years, with Rnb, and gospel production in the mix to create the unique sound of Ni-Cola. Her heart is heard throughout her music, that tells her story of Love, compassion, trial verses victory, in a 21st century mancunian way. She is described as “an artist with such versatility, that you just can’t put her in a box, she could sing Pop, Soul, Funk and the record would still be greatâ€.Ni-Cola studied Performing Arts at the University of Salford, whilst pursuing her music career. Her Background in Music began at an early age, performing in a dance group supporting artists such as Elaine Hanley and International Reggae Artist Lieutenant Stitchie, touring across Europe. She then went onto to pursue her career in Music.
Ni-Cola was nominated for Best Female Newcomer at the Gem Awards 2004; she then went onto win Best Newcomer at the Oasis Awards 2006. Her 1st single received much airplay from radio stations both local and national producing much anticipation for the Debut Album released December 2007.
She incorporates catchy hooks in her song writing that deliver songs that you just can’t get out of you’re head the singer/songwriter (laughs), such as the Radio Hit, “Still Not gonna Bowâ€, an up tempo track that can be heard on radio and clubs alike. “Better Daysâ€, and “War Cry†which has been chosen to appear on a UK compilation Album set for release early 2008.
Ni-Cola needs no introduction, she can engage a small intimate crowd or make an auditorium full of people have a good time when she sets the stage with her warm, stage presence.
